The Cobbler's Bench
We formed our training department in September, 2004 to better serve the training needs of our childcare staff. The department is managed by our Education Director, Mary Alice Rohner-Jenkins. The Cobbler's Bench keeps staff current in their Maryland Child Care Training Credentials, informs them of upcoming workshops in the metro area, and offers free in-house workshops by our own trainers as well as outside experts. We subsidize the costs for our staff to attend a variety of workshops and conferences sponsored by organizations and individuals specializing in child development.
We also offer our high quality training to early childhood educators in our community, who work for other childcare centers. The Cobbler's Bench sends out notices of our in-house workshops to other centers in our area and lists our workshops in bulletins announcing training opportunities to childcare professionals.
